When some people, who had just built a new home, came to see the new home that Mike had built for us, one of the first questions they asked was, “How long is the punch list?” They were flabbergasted when we told them there wasn’t one. That sums up the experience of working with Mike and his team. From taking down two cottages that had been in the family since 1939 to transforming our lakeside property into a magnificent new home, every aspect of the project was first class. Mike stayed in constant touch, coordinated the full range of subcontractors and suppliers, and most importantly offered his expertise to anticipate and respond to the inevitable challenges with creative solutions. People who have visited us have marveled at the detail and time spent ensuring that fit and finishes were meticulously done. Who knew that you could actually win a nationwide award for a foundation? Mike did.
The other thing that made this project so enjoyable was the character and quality of Mike’s team and the subcontractors he employed. When everything was complete, we looked at ourselves and said, “Where did our family go?” We felt that everyone working with us treated the job as if it were their own home. We not only saw some incredibly talented craftsmen at work, we made some lasting friendships.

Bogel Builders are great to work with. They come when they say they will and they do excellent work for a very reasonable price. Mike Marnett responds to every question immediately and is sensitive to working within a limited budget. They have done both repairs and remodeling on our 100+ year-old house, including the creation of a beautiful shower in what I thought was an impossible location. We certainly plan to use their services again and recommend them without reservation.
We hired Bogel Builders to do a complete renovation of a 4000 sq ft house as well as additions. The budget was firm and the time line definite. Mike met both of these with professionalism. Mike was a pleasure to deal with and treated both of us equally which was one of the reasons we chose him in the first place. His subs were first rate and there have been no surprises after the fact. We would recommend him highly and would definitely use him again.
I highly recommend Bogel Builders. Mike Marnett and his team made refinishing our attic and creating a new hallway and bathroom a very exciting and pleasant experience. They are true professionals who come on time, everyday, do the job and leave it tidy. Mike communicated with us daily on all levels of the project. For a family on a budget with 4 young kids living in the house at the time of the project, it could not have gone better.
We were first impressed with Mike Marnett during the initial interview process. He, more than others, was very detail oriented and responsive. We found this to be true through the entire construction process, which included a substantial 2,000 s.f. high quality addition to our existing house; while making it appear seamless. Most impressive about Mike to us, was there were no surprises. His communication was excellent and any change orders were discussed in advance and documented. We felt extremely comfortable with all his crew and subcontractors. Also very impressive was that the work proceeded in a quick, diligent and timely manner. As with all construction we encountered periodic unforeseen challenges. Mike consistently was able to problem solve with practical and valuable suggestions. Looking back on his input, he made all the difference in obtaining a result that has provided long-term satisfaction for our family. We consistently recommend Mike to our friends who desire a high level of professionalism and quality. Mike’s job sites are known to be most well organized and clean around; which we also found to be the case.
If we could only use one word to describe Mike Marnett and Bogel Builders it would be ‘meticulous!’ Every aspect of our three year / three phase renovation project was handled ‘meticulously…’ from the initial bidding process through the final punch list. Mike and his wonderful crew and sub contractors were keenly attentive to every detail of the project. The schedule and the budget were strictly adhered to. We chose to remain in the house throughout all three phases of the work. Mike and his crew made every accommodation for our comfort during this time. They were very respectful of our property and our privacy. When the job was completed and they left we felt like part of our family had moved away and we missed them. We recommend Mike and Bogel builders without reservation.
